The five forms#

Each form has every spell of its class (level-200 grade) and plays with the mechanics of two dungeon bosses, as in their own room. A form ends at 800,000, 600,000, 400,000 and 200,000 HP (4/5, 3/5, 2/5 and 1/5 of his maximum life).

Form 1 · Eliotrope

100% to 80% · Nileza and Sylargh

Invulnerable; zombie explosions open him. Pacifist far from him.

Form 2 · Iop

80% to 60% · Celestial Bearbarian and Kimbo

+200% resistance; melee hits and the Disciple's glyph open him.

Form 3 · Cra

60% to 40% · Turtelonia and Korriander

Lunar Cycle; deadly glyphs under the players.

Form 4 · Sram

40% to 20% · Missiz Freezz and Queen of Thieves

Glacial Invulnerability; pushes open him. Bonbombs.

Form 5 · Sorcerer Xelor

20% to 0% · Klime and Count Harebourg

Invulnerable; only an even-turn symmetric exchange opens him. White cells.

Changing form#

  • The hit that reaches the threshold ends the form as soon as the current action is over (rest of the spell, triggers, turn-start glyphs and poisons).
  • Bugcat dies, then comes back in the next class and colour: his effects, marks and summons are removed. He is Invulnerable until his next turn starts; a change during his own turn ends that turn.
  • Each form change brings a wave of bugs and changes the music. Monsters raised by the Eliotrope stay in the fight, without the Zombie state.
  • A kill effect or losing all his life never skips a form: before the fifth, he changes form instead of dying. A heal never takes him above the top of his current form.
  • In this fight, Bugcat and his summons deal only 54% of their damage to players, the bugs and everything else on their side 36%.

Form 1: EliotropeNileza and Sylargh#

  • Sylargh's Mantelpiece: Bugcat is Invulnerable and Heavy.
  • At the start of each of his turns, he raises the 3 monsters that died last, 6 to 10 cells from him, with 10% of their life and the Zombie state (+300 damage for 2 turns).
  • A zombie that dies explodes: fire damage within 5 cells, +100 damage for 2 turns to everyone hit, and the other zombies in the area die. If Bugcat stands 5 to 10 cells from the explosion, he loses Invulnerable for one of his turns.
  • Nileza's Cohobation: 2, 4 and 6 turns after the form starts, then every 2 turns, players more than 12, 10, 8 and then 6 cells from Bugcat become Pacifist for 2 turns.

Nileza

Cohobation

Stay close to Bugcat.

Sylargh

Necromagic and Zombaby

Blow up zombies 5 to 10 cells from him.

Form 2: IopCelestial Bearbarian and Kimbo#

  • Bugcat has +200% resistance in every element, half of Kimbo's.
  • When he becomes an Iop, he summons Kimbo's Disciple. At the start of Bugcat's turn, the Disciple lays its glyph by the last elemental hit Bugcat took: Earth or Water gives the Odd Glyph, Fire or Air the Even Glyph; Neutral picks nothing.
  • If Bugcat starts his turn in the glyph, that hit's pair of elements drops to -200% until his next turn, the other pair rises to 1,000%. A player who starts their turn in the glyph dies, and the Disciple kills players next to it when it lays the glyph.
  • Celestial Bearbarian: at the start of each player's turn, Bugcat becomes Invulnerable again. A melee hit removes Invulnerable for that turn and pushes aligned enemies around him back 4 cells. Any player who takes pushback damage dies.
  • Removing his MP or range, or moving him, gives him Beark to Life: while he has it, he revives up to 4 dead allies at the start of his turn.

Celestial Bearbarian

Melee

Only melee hits open him.

Kimbo

Even and Odd Glyphs

Kimbo's Disciple

Summoned

Do not stand next to it.

Form 3: CraTurtelonia and Korriander#

  • Turtelonia's Lunar Cycle: Bugcat summons the Moonorb next to the vortex and goes through the eight moon phases. Each phase gives him a different bonus; he is Invulnerable during New Moon and Full Moon.
  • Korriander's Load Headice: at the start of each player's turn, two glyphs appear under them. They belong to that player and kill that player's allies standing in them when they trigger.

Turtelonia

Lunar Cycle

Hit outside New Moon and Full Moon.

Korriander

Player glyphs

Do not step on an ally's starting cell.

Form 4: SramMissiz Freezz and Queen of Thieves#

  • Missiz Freezz's Snowdrift: Bugcat has Glacial Invulnerability and is Heavy.
  • Pushing a fighter sets off Antifreeze where it stops: everything in a star around that cell (6 cells in straight lines, 3 in diagonals) is pushed 1 cell, and Bugcat, if he is in the star, loses Glacial Invulnerability for 1 turn.
  • At the start of each player's turn, an Icy Trap is placed on their cell. A player who takes pushback damage also takes 100 damage (no erosion: Bugcat applies none).
  • Queen of Thieves' Guilty Pleasure: at the start of each player's turn, a Bonbomb is summoned within 2 cells of them. Bugcat also casts Mist whenever it is ready (every 3 turns).

Missiz Freezz

Antifreeze

Push next to him to open him.

Queen of Thieves

Bonbombs and Mist

Move away from Bonbombs.

Form 5: Sorcerer XelorKlime and Count Harebourg#

  • Count Harebourg's Chime Chime Cheree: Bugcat is Invulnerable. The clock alternates even and odd turns; hits rotate or exchange fighters around him. After an even-turn symmetric exchange, if Bugcat's mirrored cell holds a fighter, he loses Invulnerable for 1 turn. It is the only way to open him.
  • If the mirrored cell of an exchange is not a valid fight cell, the whole party dies.
  • Klime's Shagreen: at the start of each monster's turn, a white glyph appears under it for 2 turns, and every player without Smooth Skin becomes Pacifist for 1 turn. A player in a white glyph gains Smooth Skin; a monster in a white glyph gains +300 damage. Players start with Smooth Skin for 3 turns.

Klime

White cells

End your turns on a white cell.

Count Harebourg

Symmetric exchange

Hold his mirrored cell on even turns.

Bug waves#

A wave arrives at the start of the fight, at each form change and every 5 rounds, 3 to 5 cells from the central vortex. A wave has one bug more than there are players, at least 3 and at most 8. The 5-round wave does not come while 2 bugs per player (at least 4) are still standing. Each bug is drawn at random from the five below.

Bugs are level 300, with 12 AP, 5 times the life and 6 times the damage of their model from the Dark Dimension. They die with Bugcat.

Tips#

  • Kill the bugs: each wave adds to the last, and the Eliotrope raises the last 3 dead every turn.
  • Prepare for the next form before the threshold: Bugcat is Invulnerable until his next turn and a wave arrives at each change.
  • Bugcat and his summons apply no erosion: only the hits' base erosion (30% lower for players) applies.
  • Form 1: stay within 6 cells of Bugcat, and kill zombies 5 to 10 cells from him.
  • Form 2: do not push your allies and avoid pushback damage; hit in melee, in the element the glyph will weaken.
  • Form 3: never stand on the cell where an ally started their turn.
  • Form 5: check the mirrored cell before every hit on an even turn; a cell outside the arena kills the whole party.
