  • No key
  • 50,000,000 HP

Access#

  1. Start the quest The End of Wax with Sandy (Astrub Zaap), then take the boat to the Antinau Sea Islands.
  2. Talk to Sandy on the island: she opens the portals to the beasts.
  3. The orange portal next to her leads straight into the Graogarm Hall. Each player goes through it themselves.
  4. The room's orange portal brings you back next to Sandy. After a win or a defeat you also wake up next to her.

The arena#

Gargandyas stands in the middle of the arena's north-east wall and never moves. The party starts in the south-west, facing him.

Each fight takes the week's Osavora season. It sets his escort: Zarbivores (Birth), Rhoarims (Hunt) or Kabombz (Rest), and the effects of Animal Amnesia and Primitive Cry.

Fight phases#

Phase 1

100% to 70% of his life

Gargandyas is invulnerable while his 3 escorts live. When the last one dies he collapses for 3 of his turns and takes 20 times the damage. Reach 70% during that time, or he wakes with Rockfall and a new escort of 3.

Phase 2

70% to 35%

Same rule with 4 escorts, invulnerable during their first turn. Both paws strike at once. Reach 35% while he is down.

Phase 3

35% to 0

5 escorts, no more paw strikes, but Cataclysmic Breath. When the escorts are dead, the Graogarm Corruption appears in the middle. Destroyed or burst, it leaves Gargandyas down for good: he takes 20 times the damage until he dies.

Mechanics#

The damage shown is before resistances: a player at 65% resistance in the element takes about a third of it.

  • Fall: the dark red glyph in front of him marks where he falls. A player on it when he collapses dies.
  • Primordial Ritual (Bénidyas): a character gets Bénidyas and a blue glyph follows them. At Gargandyas's next turn, every player outside the glyph dies. Glyph: 3-cell circle (phase 1), 1-cell square (phase 2), 1-cell cross (phase 3; 1-cell square with more than 5 players). Every 4, 3 then 2 of his turns.
  • Savagial Impact (phase 1) and Primobestial Impact (phase 2): he raises his paw and a red zone appears, right then left (both in phase 2). Ending your turn inside kills. Walking in costs 2,150 fire, and the paw landing at his next turn deals 2,850 fire to whoever is inside.
  • Gargameha (every 2 turns): a 3-cell-wide beam in front of him, across the whole arena: 1,570 earth, fire, water and air, and 1 turn of buffs removed.
  • Beastly Barrage (every 2 turns, left edge then right): the claw strikes the edge's 3 columns: 1,850 air, pushed 7 cells toward the middle, -20% resistances for 3 turns.
  • Telluric Seals (every 3, 2 then 1 of his turns): four seals enclose a character he sees, who takes earth damage and Heaviness for 1 turn.
  • Animal Amnesia and Primitive Cry: depending on the season, maluses on players (-3 AP, -2 MP or 10% erosion) and bonuses on his monsters (heal, power or shield).
  • Rockfall: if he wakes without the threshold reached, 2,000 earth and 2,000 neutral to every player, and 3 turns of buffs removed.
  • Cataclysmic Breath (phase 3): he raises his head, then pushes everyone back 6 cells, then pulls everyone in 6 cells.
  • Graogarm Corruption (phase 3): 1,050,000 HP, it takes 4 times the damage. At the start of its third turn it bursts: 2,300 neutral to every player, then 1,430 neutral at the start of their next 2 turns.

Rewards#

Claim them in the achievements panel. The Gargandyas's Temple achievement gives two Guardian Dofus (account-linked) and the Gargandyas Relic (+5% resistance in every element). Its Nightmare achievement gives the Gargandyas Nightmare Relic (+10%) and an Epic Potion. The Dofus and potions are given once per account; every character of the account receives the relics, XP and kamas.

Tips#

  • Keep your strongest hits for his falls: it is the only time he can be hurt, and the thresholds must be reached during those 3 turns.
  • Do not kill the last escort while someone stands on the dark red glyph in front of him.
  • The Bénidyas carrier should move little: the glyph follows them, and their allies must be in it at Gargandyas's turn.
  • Avoid the columns in front of him (Gargameha) and the arena's edges (Beastly Barrage).
