Dungeons and bosses

World Bosses

Every hour, a world boss appears on an outdoor map of the world, in three difficulty tiers. Beating it gives a World Boss Chest and nothing else.

Schedule and map#

A boss appears on the hour and leaves at minute 50.

  • Spawns at HH:00, leaves at HH:50, then 10 minutes without a boss before the next one (server time).
  • The boss is drawn at random from over 30 bosses; never the same one two hours in a row.
  • The map is drawn at random among the outdoor world maps connected to Astrub on foot: never a dungeon, a house, Incarnam or a locked zone.
  • The three tiers stand still side by side on the same map. When a team attacks one, an identical copy replaces it at once: any number of teams can fight at the same time.
  • A fight still running at HH:50 ends normally and pays the chest of its hour.

The three tiers#

Exact life points depend on the boss. Every boss keeps its own mechanics, adapted to work on any map; its allies and summons follow the tier.

III80010,000,000 to 12,000,000World Boss Chest III (Prismatic)

Fight rules#

  • No XP, kamas, drops, cards or achievement rewards: only the chest.
  • Difficulty modes (Hardcore, Nightmare) don't apply.
  • No challenges.
  • The fight takes place on the map's tactical fight board, like any open-world fight.

Announcements#

  • Spawn: a chat message and a popup for every online player, with the boss's name but not its map.
  • Discovery: the first time a character of an account reaches the boss's map during the hour, the whole server is told who found it (one line every 10 seconds at most, later finders grouped).

World Boss Tracker#

World Boss Tracker
  • 200,000 kamas
  • James Morgan
  • Unlimited uses
  • Using it opens a small window with a purple light that blinks according to your distance to the boss, in maps.
  • Distance: the number of rings of maps between you and the boss (the larger of the horizontal and vertical coordinate gaps).
  • At 30 maps or more: one change every 2 seconds. At 1 map: every 2 frames. In between, the closer you get, the faster.
  • On the boss's map, the light stays on. Outside the outdoor world (house, dungeon, Incarnam), the shortest path in maps counts, or the slowest blink if the boss can't be reached.
  • The window also shows the time before the boss leaves, or before the next one arrives.
Tracker window
On the boss's map: "The world boss is here!" and the time before it leaves.

The bosses#

Over 30 bosses, each with its own mechanics. Among them:

  • Guild raids: Willorka, Moraympress, Crabinator, Scarlet Queen, Cursed Princess, Sentinel of the Court, Guardian of the Fields, Watcher of the Text, Defender of the Reserve
  • Anomaly guardians: Crimson Dawn Champion, Julith, Dathura, Black Crow, Rushu Larva, Unearthed Agony, Percimol, Leorictus the Grimacing King, Shuccubus, Noximilian the Clockmaker, Qilby
  • Upset Osavora bosses: Upset Bzzegg Supervisor, Upset Sleeping Venerable One, Upset Ripper
  • Vulkania and events: Grozilla, Grasmera, Jorbak, Bloodthirsty Vampire, Half Father Kwismas, Daggero

Rewards#

2 chests per account per hour, one per character: the leader and a hero each get one.

  • The chest goes to the end-of-fight loot of each winning character still owed one, dead or alive; a character who left the fight gets none.
  • The account's own character comes first, then its heroes. A third character of the same account, or the same character a second time, gets nothing.
  • The chest depends on the tier beaten and the group size (n): the number of characters on the team at the start of the fight, players and heroes, 8 at most. Those who leave mid-fight still count.
  • The (4) chest is the reference: shards, kamas, XP and Cursed Coins are n / 4 of its amounts, rounded to the nearest, at least 1 shard and 1 coin. Every chest always holds exactly 1 soul.
  • The XP is what a level-200 dungeon achievement gives at your level; it is zero once your Prestige level cap is reached.

World Boss Souls#

The Void Magician in Astrub [5,-18] trades the souls: talk to him, pick the trade, then drop souls of a single size. Every full batch gives one result; the rest stays in your bag.

You can also drop them in his Exchange (right-click the Void Magician, Exchange), still of a single size: every 10 Small, 8 Medium or 6 Giant first make an Ultimate Upgrade Spell Potion, then every 4 of the rest a Nightmare item. For Nightmare items only, use the dialogue (or drop fewer souls than the potion's price).

Every soul trade is also gathered in his "Trade Boss Souls" window (right-click the Void Magician): one item per click, including the Waxmod Selection Box, which only this window offers (14 Small, 12 Medium or 10 Giant).

The Nightmare item is drawn at random from its size's pool, with stats rolled like a drop; it stays hidden ("?") until you confirm.
